One Present Sorted!

It’s taken a while, but it’s finally finished.

Mums Christmas Present is here!! It’s a Swoon Patterns Dorothy bag, which, by my calculations should be just about the right size for knitting stuff.

I am on to a winner with it anyway, I know she’ll love the fabric. She bought it about 15 years ago because she loves it and then didn’t really do anything with it. So I stole it a few months back… And voila, a bag.

The largest needle case!

Last night I whipped up a needle case base on this one that I saw years ago and have had bookmarked ever since. Even when I was cutting it out it didn’t actually occur to me that it would turn out quite so large!

Even so, I like it, still need to work on binding as it’s not as tight to the quilting as I’d like.

The fabric (except the felt) was a bargain fat quarter bundle from

But it is an improvement on the binding I’ve done before, so all good 🙂

Shorts: take 1

Well, first shot at making clothes in a long long time!

Utterly confused last night by the zip – it’s in the back?? OK, whatever! Quite good fabric to work with, and I’m please it’s coming back to me quite so easily ( I know, it’s a simple pattern) but still, long lost skills are coming back, and new techniques I’ve not done before are being attempted 🙂20140422-110813.jpg

Sew sew

Well, I casually threw together a lap quilt last week as you do….

The pattern was a freebie on a patchwork magazine, but I quite like the effect, and it works a treat with a layer cake 🙂

Not too shabby for a first quilt, learnt a fair bit to apply to the next one.
