I can’t do a lot at the moment – just had an operation so I decided to spend the day doing some art journalling using some of the prompts from UKScrappers.

this is what I’ve come up with – not sure if any are finished!

 

 

 

I’m happier with the photos of them!! They still need something though….

Bollywood

Hi

I’ve just finished a 30th birthday cake for someone, It’s a fruit cake for a change as it needs to last a little, so different challenges this time, but all good. I have enjoyed making this one. It’s supposed to be bollywoodish, hope it fits what he wants!!

 

There was a bit of a crisis when I ordered some new cutters from a web site I’ve used before and they turned up damaged, but they were great and sent me new ones as soon as I let them know, only put me back a day or so, but it did mean that there isn’t as much detailing on it as I’d like. I think I need to work on the planning aspect with the next one!!

I seem to have a few requests for cakes at the moment, the first is this one

for a man’s 75th birthday, I have two more to do by the end of next week, and another to do for the beginning of April, which will be interesting as I am off into hospital in two weeks for a little op, hopefully I’ll be OK to fiddle about with icing shortly afterwards, as it’s going to be a fantastic little cake!!

This week i’ve signed up for a couple open uni courses. The first is galaxies, stars and planets which starts in the summer, then introducing environment which starts a few weeks afterwards. I’m looking forward to them starting, I need a bit of focus and a challenge!

Not quite as much achieved as I’d like, a bit of catching up to do with a few projects – and I keep finding new ones to add in to what I’m already doing…… I can see a flaw in the plan somewhere!!

I finished a pair of booties!! they are slightly different sizes, but we’ll gloss over that little point…..

Also just done a little cake….

that is all for now – got to finish sorting out my clothes. I managed to live out of a suitcase for 4 months, so I’m pretty sure I can send at least half of mine to a charity shop. Wish me luck!!

It’s been a while…

since my last post, it’s been a bit topsy turvy here – had a new bathroom put in, and solar panels installed so the ambitiously named ‘craft room’ has reverted into a storage room :-( never mind, I have at least now managed to clear a route to my computer!!!

I went to Westpoint craft for crafters for 2 days. It was an interesting experience! met some great people, especially Pete who is a hurdler! http://www.abelwillow.co.uk/ he was showing people how to make these little mini hurdles

and I was showing people how to make these

 

 

I have also just finished a cake, my first time at making a baby!! shame I can’t take a good picture of it though – was in a bit of a rush!
